What is mubin shaikh?

Mubin Shaikh is a former extremist who became an undercover operative for Canada's spy agency, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS). He was born in India in 1973 and moved to Canada when he was 7 years old.

In the early 1990s, Shaikh became radicalized and joined a group that supported violence in the name of Islam. However, in 2004, he began working with CSIS to infiltrate a terrorist cell in Toronto, which was planning to carry out attacks in Canada.

Shaikh spent two years undercover, attending terrorist training camps and gathering evidence for CSIS. He testified against the members of the cell in court, which led to their convictions.

After his undercover work, Shaikh became a de-radicalization consultant and has been involved in preventing violent extremism in Canada and around the world. He has also worked with the Muslim community in Canada to challenge extremist ideologies.

Shaikh has been recognized for his work in preventing terrorism and promoting community safety. In 2018, he was appointed to the Order of Ontario, which is the highest honor awarded by the province of Ontario.
